WORKSHOPS

Here you can find a description of the two types of workshops that are offered.

If you are interested in organizing a special event workshop, celebrating something or planning a team building activity, feel free to contact me in advance, I am sure we can arrange something.

To get more information such as open slots or pricing please send an email to ana@quema.studio .

Lately, there has been a big demand for workshops. I am of course very happy that they are so popular. But this also means for you that you might have to wait a little until there are available spots again. I thank you in advance for your understanding.

1 \ WHEEL THROWING WORKSHOP

This workshop consists of four sessions of three hours each. It is recommended to meet once a week, during four consecutive weeks.

OPTIONS:

- Private one on one workshop.

- Two-student workshop (the student comes with a friend, partner, etc.; the second student is not recruited by me).

-Three-student workshop.

DESCRIPTION:

- SESSION 1 AND 2: Introduction to the material and technique, learn how to prepare the clay, center it on the wheel and learn how to throw cylinders, bowls and more with special guidance.

- SESSION 3: Refine the pieces made during the previous classes by learning the steps of trimming. After that, the pieces will go through the first firing.

- SESSION 4: Decorate your pieces, learn about glazes, their different applications and finalize your pieces before the final firing. All pieces will be ready to pick up approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the last session (you will be contacted).

2 \ TASTER SESSION

This is a one-session class of three hours.

OPTIONS:

- Private one on one workshop.

- Two-student workshop (the student comes with a friend, partner, etc.; the second student is not recruited by me).

-Three-student workshop.

DESCRIPTION:

- First will consist of a demonstration of the complete throwing process. Follow by hands-on practice during which I will be present offering guidance and practical tips. At the end of the class you will get to choose which pieces you want to keep, then you will decide in what color (glaze) you want them (only one glaze per piece).

Finally your pieces will be left at the studio; they will be fired (twice) and glazed. They will be ready to pick up  in appoximately 2 to 3 weeks later (you will be contacted).
